In “Nurture the Wow: Finding Spirituality in the Frustration, Boredom, Tears, Poop, Desperation, Wonder, and Radical Amazement of Parenting,” Ruttenberg shines the light of centuries of spiritual wisdom from a wide variety of traditions on the serious labor of parenting.
She also shares her own parenting journey. Writing about your family can be touchy business, but Ruttenberg points out that most of the personal anecdotes make her look worse than her kids.
